The FOSS AGM was held on 15th October, along with an ordinary meeting. The minutes of both meetings are attached on e -copies or are available on the website. Thank you to everyone who came along or volunteered to assist on the committee. The FOSS office bearers for 2019/2020are Liz Wilson (Chairperson), Sonja Sedran (Treasurer) and Mel Staley (Secretary).
Halloween Thanks! FOSS would like to thank everyone who helped out to make last week’s Halloween Party a success, not least, DJ Frankensmith. We hear some children thought he was an actual monster! Thank you also to everyone who came along to the party – the costumes and pumpkins were fabulous as always. FOSS raised approximately £420, which is significantly up on last year.
The Bag2School collection on 15th November raised £80 and FOSS would like to thank everyone who contributed. It’s a very easy way to make a bit of extra money and well worth the time.
Christmas Tombola – We will be holding a non-uniform day on Monday 9th December and asking for donations of chocolate by way of a fine. These donations will be used for the tombola at the Christmas Productions.
Easyfundraising – Please don’t forget to use the easyfundraising app for your Christmas shopping! It is really easy and you can register on your computer or any device. For every penny you spend at online retailers such as Amazon and supermarkets, they make a small donation to FOSS. Their website is www.easyfundraising.org.uk , choose FOSS, and details of what you need to know are on the site. We have already raised about £40 in the last week or so, just by a few of us using it for groceries or Christmas shopping!
Christmas Raffle Tickets – Please bring in your sold raffle tickets, money and any leftover tickets to the office by Monday 9 Dec. More books are available from the office. We have wonderful prizes including a 3 course Sunday lunch with a bottle of house wine at The Star Inn at Harome, the FOSS Hamper, Queens Beauty Boutique voucher, Castle Howard family pass, Castle Howard hamper, Florio’s voucher, a Beadlam Grange breakfast for 2 and many other great prizes. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 13 December at the evening Christmas production.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER! – Christmas Party (11th Dec) and Productions (13th Dec) – The party and productions rosters are up in the school foyer. We really need help for these things, especially set up for the Christmas party. Please have a look and put your name down to help us. Bring your Christmas cheer! We also need your donations of mince pies for the refreshments stand at the productions. Please place them in the box in the foyer. School staff will accompany children to the Village Hall from school and some staff will stay on at the party. Parents should collect children from the Village Hall by 5.30pm. Children may bring party outfits to school with them and can change before going to the party.
Christmas Party Food Lists – Lists for party food donations by class are up in the foyer. Please have a look and sign up to one item only and either bring them to school in suitable packaging on the morning of the party (11th Dec) or to the Village Hall for 3pm that day.
